On this edition of the weekly buff we have an amazing retired Las Vegas Metro Officer who brought us his baby. A Mercedes C63 AMG 507 Edition. This beauty looked decent, but was in need of some much needed attention to details when it came to the paint, and to fixing it. The paint is a pearl white from Mercedes, and it looked almost dull when we received the car in shop, and the barrels of wheels definitely needed a few layers of decontamination to remove all the caked on brake dust from over the years.

The crew began by washing the vehicle using our EVO Wheel Gel to get the faces of the wheels clean, our GLOSS IT APC for the wheel wells, and our EVO Gloss IT Shampoo for the entire surface of the vehicle with our Foam Cannon. Once we had a nice even layer of foam all over the vehicle we began decontaminating the surface with a mild green claybar that will remove all debris that has adhered to the paint over time. This step will ensure that when we polish the paint no further damage is added by embedded debris.

Josh and JR started to remove the badges and wheels once the wash process was complete so they could replace the old badges with new custom badges, and clean the inside barrels of the wheels which should look silver but were a dark gray to say the least. JR used our Wheel gel, and good old manual brushing to remove layers upon layers of brake dust they had to repeat the process three times to get them looking nice and brand new. Josh had already began the paint correction process, which ended up being a three step correction process. The guys used our EVO 21, and Micropolisher to get all the detailed areas perfect, and used an array of our polishes from our EVO 800 Heavy Cut Polish, to our EVO 2000 Cut finishing polish. This process left the pearl paint glossy, and looking like it just came out of the showroom, and we knew the owner was going to love the outcome.

The final step was for us to coat all surfaces on the vehicle in Ceramic Coating. We used our EVO 7H Ceramic Coating on the entire paint surface providing protection for years to come, and we coated the barrels and face of all four wheels with our EVO Wheel & Caliper Coating, allowing for easier cleaning for up to a year after application. We applied the new red and black mercedes badges, and applied new wheel caps to replace old yellowed ones. In our opinion these final touches made the entire vehicle look completely different the wheel caps alone gave it new life along with the shine of the Ceramic Coating 😍

The customer ended up loving the outcome and we over delivered by removing even the deepest imperfection we weren’t sure we could get at first.
