On this edition of the weekly buff we proudly bring you a brand new 2023 Honda Civic Type-R boasting a turbocharged 2.0L engine putting out 315Hp and 310lb-ft Torque. This brand new Type-R is much sportier than past generations, and the red and black suede interior is an amazing touch they did on this generation. The onboard mapping is also finally done on the 9in touchscreen media center instead of an app on your phone to be available with feedback right away while on track.

The first thing the crew did when it arrived was give it a good decontaminating wash as always with our EVO Pro Shampoo, Foam Cannon, and a mild green clay bar to remove any abrasive contaminants that may be stuck on the paint. Once we were sure that the finish was clean we moved over to JR who began to polish the entire vehicle as it did have some light marring and small scratches. He used our EVO 21 Polisher and EVO mini polisher along with our EVO 2000 Cut finishing polish leaving the finish flawless and ready for Ceramic Coating.

JR began to apply two layers of our EVO 9H Ceramic Coating providing a 4 year warranty when applied by a certified EVO PRO Installer from around the country. Jr only applied it from the doors back on the entire vehicle as the hood, fenders, and bumper will be getting PPF applied later in the day. Jr also applied our EVO Glass Coating to help with improved visibility during rain, and preventing water marks from baking into the glass over time. We also applied our EVO Wheel & Caliper coating ensuring that the wheels will be easier to clean for at least a year to come, and will protect the wheels from anything that may stick and contaminate the wheels over time.

Max then began the process by going over the finish with our Gloss Enhancer Detail Spray to ensure the finish was clean of any dust that it could get in the shop, and then began to Custom cut the PPF pieces he was going to apply to the vehicle. He began with the hood making sure that the entire thing was cut back properly and was not visible to the naked eye when applied. He also applied PPF to the bumper, mirrors, and Fenders to provide protection from rock chips, road debris, and the sun damage that occurs over time to paint. Once that was complete we also applied our EVO 9H Coating to the finish of the PPF to provide additional gloss, and protection from scratches, and abrasive road debris on the PPF for the ultimate protection available.
