On this edition of the weekly buff we fly out to Atlanta, Georgia to help out our friend Ed Bolian from Vinwiki who recently purchased a Spyker C8 Laviolette that was previously owned by Missy Elliott. Now He had sent us some videos and photos of the car, and we thought this might be a tougher job than we initially had foreseen. We needed some help and decided to call in some reinforcements from the area. We were able to get Bam Cunningham from Atlanta, Devin from Valdosta, and Gaby and Tank from Tango Mike Detailing. Now this was a dream crew who had plenty of experience, and had all taken our Gloss IT University courses online, and in person bootcamps to grow their business before.

Now when we saw the car in person for the first time we definitely were happy we had a good crew to help us out. The paint definitely had some deep imperfections, portions that had been repainted, and the chrome was in extreme need of love and care. The first step we performed was a waterless decontamination with our Gloss Enhancer Quick Detailer, and mild green claybars to remove any abrasive debris that may be stuck on the paint finish, chrome, and wheels.

The paint correction process was definitely going to be a three step process, the first being a wool pad and our EVO 800 Heavy Cut polish to remove deep imperfections in the paint. once the entire car was finished with that we also had the small issue of a line in the hood of the car that could be seen from a previous repaint that had occurred when Missy Elliott had a minor accident. Now Devin got to work dry sanding the area, and fixing a slight bend in the front splitter that needed to be straightened out he did wonders to it and it looked just like new in a matter of minutes. The second step was a micro fiber pad with our EVO 2000 cut finshing polish to remove marring and some other swirl marks that may have been left over from the heavy cutting step.

Once paint correction was done we had a talk with Ed who initially wanted to PPF the entire vehicle, but after seeing the results and how much clarity we were able to get out of the paint we decided it would be best for the entire vehicle to be coated in our EVO PRO Graphene Ceramic Coating providing protection from scratches, the elements, and from every day driving.

We put down two layers of our coating, and a final top layer with our EVO Body Guard Spray that leaves an extra layer of protection and slickness ensuring that nothing will stick to this paint finish for the foreseeable future. Ed was more than happy with the results and we are thankful for our team that went out to Atlanta to help us get this project done in 48hrs. Ed drove the Spyker the next morning to Festival of Speed in Alpharetta where it took best in show and judges choice award for the best vehicle there. We couldnt be more proud of our installers and we’d like to give Ed a big thank you as well for the hospitality.
