On this edition of the Weekly Buff we have a beautiful black Tundra TRD PRO that came in for paint correction, ceramic coating, and PPF to protect it for years to come from anything the weather may throw at the driver. As seen in the video, you can see that the paint wasn’t in great condition, but nothing we couldn’t handle and take care of. The first step, as always, is a full decontamination wash to remove anything abrasive from the finish with our EVO shampoo, fresh wash mitts, and a mild claybar to ensure that when we begin paint correction, nothing adds more damage.
We used our EVO 800 Heavy Cut polish to remove heavy imperfections with a wool pad, then used our EVO 3000 Finishing and foam pads to remove any marring left from the heavy cutting step. Once that was done the crew began the PPF install with the hood and fenders, moved on to the bumper, and finally the headlights and mirrors to protect it before it heads off road again.
We applied one last protection layer using our EVO PRO Graphene to give the PPF an additional layer of protection and prevent staining on the vehicle from bird droppings, water spots, bug stains, and more.
Once the customer saw it, they couldn’t believe it was the same truck they loved. They were thrilled with the outcome and the color choice they made.
Why This Combination Works So Well
Each step on this Tundra plays a different role, and together they cover the truck from every angle.
Paint correction is what brings the finish back to life. By leveling out swirls, scratches, and haze, we restore the depth and clarity that make a black truck look wet and glossy instead of dull and tired. This is also the foundation for everything else, because you never want to lock imperfections under a coating.
Ceramic coating seals that corrected finish with a durable, hydrophobic layer that fights UV damage from the brutal Vegas sun, resists water spots, and makes routine washes far easier. Less baked-on grime, less oxidation, and a shine that holds up season after season.
PPF is the heavy armor. For a TRD PRO that actually sees dirt, gravel, and open highway, the film shields high-impact areas from rock chips, sand, bug splatter, and road debris. It is the difference between chipped, pitted paint and a hood that still looks factory fresh years down the road.
