On this edition of the weekly buff, we have a 2017 Challenger in silver that was brought to us by our new client, Brian. He wanted to change the color of the vehicle and keep it for many more years, so we advised color PPF over vinyl, as vinyl will burn with the sun much quicker than PPF will, plus, of course, the added benefit of protection from rock chips and deep scratches.
The first thing that was done on this vehicle was that we began to take it apart, removing the bumpers, mirrors, and other pieces of trim so that we could wrap each panel properly and show none of the base color. Once Lukus, Josh, and Jr completed removing what they needed, we began a full decontamination wash as we do with every vehicle.
Josh and Jon began the process of wrapping and soon realized it would be a bit more difficult than we anticipated, and we would also need to order more material than expected because of the color flop. Once they had a few panels complete, the color began to come together, and the film quality from Nanolink is amazing. They took around 3 days to complete the entire vehicle, and another half day to put everything back together, so it would look factory. The final step we did was, as always, apply a full array of our EVO PRO CERAMIC COATINGS. We applied EVO PRO 9H to the entire finish of the vehicle, as well as our EVO Wheel and caliper coating to the freshly painted calipers, as well as wheels, EVO Plastic Renew & Protect on all plastic trim, and EVO Glass coating around the entire vehicle.
