On this edition of the weekly buff, we have a brand new Ferrari Purosangue, boasting a V12 engine putting out 715Hp as well as All Wheel Drive, giving it great stability and handling on the road, and it does 0-60 in 3.2 seconds. Our customer, Mr. V, brought it to us asking for ceramic tint, full body PPF, and ceramic coating once it was complete.
The first thing that the crew completed was the ceramic tint, making it a cocoon and alleviating some of the heat and UV from entering the vehicle during every drive. Once that was complete, the crew began the PPF process with a full wash and complete decon with a mild claybar to remove anything abrasive from transport or the first few hundred miles. Once Nick and Josh had completed that, prep began on the vehicle, from Pro Bond on certain edges to ensure the film holds as well as it can. Nick began cutting and plotting most of the patterns while Josh began the install with the fenders, then some of the smaller carbon pieces like fender flares, as well as the lower side skirts of the doors. Once Nick had cut out all the patterns, he and Josh began the extremely difficult hood together. They used a large piece of 72in film, which still needed to be stretched to fit over the size of the insane hood. When the customer knows what he wants, we do our best to accommodate, as Mr. V wants no seams and as little visible as possible. They kept going by removing the badges on the rear trunk lid to make sure there were no lines visible around them. They used two large pieces to cover the rear trunk lid, as well as custom-cut pieces for the rear carbon diffuser; the rest that was left was the rear quarters and small pieces on the bumper, as well as the rear wing.
The final layer of protection to be added was our EVO PRO GRAPHENE CERAMIC COATING. This will prevent the glue from oxidizing and yellowing over time, and allow the PPF to be easier to clean and prevent staining over time. This was applied in two layers, as well as the EVO Glass Coating and EVO Wheel & Caliper coating, to make it much easier to clean over time and prevent staining from brake dust or water spots on the glass.
When it was picked up, the customer loved the outcome and could not tell that the PPF had been applied — the Purosangue is ready for driving and ready to go fast. Between the tint, PPF, and ceramic coating, this Purosangue now has full protection against UV, rock chips, and staining, with a finish that’s easier than ever to keep clean.
